Cook Republic featured in The Simple Things Magazine

September is turning out to be a whirlwind month. There is a lot happening behind the scenes on Cook Republic that I will hopefully be able to share with you next year. A few months ago I mentioned in my anniversary post about being approached to have my recipes and photography published. That moment is here and is the first of many such instances in a string of features and mentions to come in the following months. I am so excited to share it with you.

Future Media and the makers of the craft magazine for the masses Mollie Makes approached me a couple of months ago to be a part of their brand new publication, The Simple Things. The magazine is all about kicking back, unwinding, relaxing, taking it slow and enjoying the fundamentals of life – The Simple Things. The launch issue unveiled early in September and is available at all good newsstands in the UK at the moment with the availability slowly spreading to other countries in the coming months. I am still waiting on my copy to arrive but was excited to buy the digital version in the App Store. I have a full page photo and two other photos featured in their Apple picking section. The original photos first appeared on Cook Republic in this post. It is huge deal for me! Grab a copy of the magazine if it is available near you or buy it on the app store, it is one of the most gorgeous magazines I have seen in recent times. I love it!

Cook Republic featured in the Foodie By Glam cookbook

Foodie by Glam’s first ever cookbook was published earlier this month. I am happy to be one of the contributing editors with two recipes that I created specially for their Back To School cookbook. Their cookbook is packed with easy to follow and make recipes for those busy days when you are trying to keep it all together, packing lunch boxes and feeding hungry tummies. Have a look!

The 3rd Eat Drink Blog Conference in Australia takes place in Adelaide later this year. The time is nigh but alas, I won’t be able to go. I was asked to be one of the three judges for the photography competition which is open to bloggers Australia wide. It is such an honour. Christina from The Hungry Australian who is one of the key persons to put the wheels of the conference in motion, recently interviewed me on her blog. It was great answering some lovely questions. I hope you like it!

Maybe it is waking from the stupor of a long-ish winter, but I am eating healthier, lighter and more balanced. I am discovering the wonders of lemon to revive and revitalize. I have started running again and am loving it. I have now been baking my own bread for 3 weeks. I haven’t bought a loaf from the shops in all that time and the discipline and persistence is becoming a habit, an addiction. I have baked 7 loaves so far. Our daily bread-to-go is a simple Wholemeal loaf, but I have also baked a Raisin Loaf, a Quinoa Seed Loaf and a Dark Rye Loaf.

And now for some things that have caught my fancy this month. The list is quite long so grab a cuppa or bubbly and enjoy!

This recipe for Edamame Dumplings. This recipe for Sesame Quinoa Spring Rolls.

This recipe for Gourmet Cones. This recipe for Wholewheat Chocolate Chip Scones.

This indulgent dulce de leche yogurt.

Popovers, Doughnuts and Eclairs.

The Chobani Kitchen Conversion Chart.

This piece of Roman architecture created using Tim Tams.

This bread maker.

This piece of food truck art.

Whole Larder Love by Rohan Anderson. And his blog.

DIY  Vanilla Extract.

A Photo Tutorial - Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

Simon Bryant’s cookbook – Vegies.

The re-invention of Borders – Bookworld.

The Veggie Patch Van. (I had their amazing Zucchini & Chickpea Burger with Polenta Kale Chips over the weekend. Love their gorgeous truck! Follow them on Twitter if you are in Sydney.)

These card baskets to gift fresh produce.

Hammamas – Don’t know how we ever lived without owning one! (Now we have four!)

This photologue of a gorgeous escape in Vietnam! *sighs*

PS – If you are not already following my boards on Pinterest, please have a look see and follow if you will. I have 85 boards and I have structured them all recently and keep filling them up with super interesting pins!!
