NTTC May 2009 Roundup

We have had better response from bloggers for the NTTC May 2009 Chocolate Challenge. Well, chocolate could do that to people. I have a magnet up on my fridge that very wisely proclaims Save The Earth! It is the only place with chocolates! Chocolate can make a simple recipe, utterly special and luxurious, it has that oomph factor that no other ingredient in your kitchen would probably have. If used right and treated well, chocolate can be rightfully adapted in many fast recipes that hardly take any time to cook or assemble. I present a similar roundup of really quick recipes that use chocolate and tempt the pyjamas off you.

Caitlin of Foodnerd sent us this beautiful vegan chocolate dessert that uses banana as a natural sweetener. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pops | Food Nerd

Stephanie of Steph Chows sent in this wicked Chocolate Nutella Cake recipe that cooks faster than you can say "Chow". Chocolate Hazelnut Cake With Strawberries | Steph Chows

The Heavenly Housewife from Donuts To Delirium submitted a brilliantly simple Chocolate And Cinnamon Mousse recipe. Chocolate & Cinnamon Mousse | Donuts To Delirium

Janet from Meatless Mama sent us a gorgeous chocolate breakfast recipe packed with the power of nuts and fruits. No cooking involved! Chocolate Granola Balls | Meatless Mama

Lorraine From Not Quite Nigella has entered a 5-minute chocolate mug cake that is a beauty! I tried it myself with great success. 5-minute Chocolate Mug Cake | Not Quite Nigella

Another chocolate cake recipe from Jane of I Ate it all. Storm In A Coffee Cup | I Ate It All.

And last but not the least, my humble chocolate strudel winds up the May 2009 Challenge. Chocolate And Raspberry Strudel | Gel’s Kitchen

Chocolate Strudel

This was No Time To Cook #3 and what’s so different about it you may ask? I am going to pick a winner! I want to thank you all lovely ladies for the beautiful fast creations you sent in for the Challenge, some of which I tried making myself during the month.

And the first NTTC Spoon Bearer ……. *drumroll* ……… is

Food Nerd Caitlin Larussa for her Chocolate Peanut Butter Pops
Congratulations Caitlin! What an awesome job bringing Chocolate and Avocado together in a recipe, making it fast and healthy and in doing so embodying the true spirit of NTTC. You are the winner, spoon bearer of NTTC May 2009.
