This month was the month my magnolias bloomed. A year after planting and (shamefully) neglecting my favourite plant on my property, the magnolia still rewarded me with five beautiful blooms (See Cover Shot). I probably took more pictures of the magnolias then I did of my boys.
My veggie patch is destroyed, dug up, sullied, annhilated. Luigi is to blame. Our fiesty chook managed to sneak in through the nets and made herself at home, digging and foraging my herbs and strawberry plants. We still love her. Everything lays in a state of abandon in my garden. Lack of time is to blame. And the cold. Yet, there is a promise of new beginnings as pretty little flowers struggle to break through overgrown weeds and fallen branches. As I sit out in the garden typing this post, I feel a prickle of warmth as filtered rays of the sun kiss the top of my ears. I look around and picture the new herbs and veggies I can plant. And suddenly, I feel anticipation and a little blossom of energy in the pit of my being. I feel spring coming on.
Hope you enjoy a collection of my favourites this month.
